WOODEN POOL HOUSE
2009 - The wooden pool house is an 88 sqm holiday home on a coastline suburb of the Attica Peninsula. The initial requirement of the client was to have a pool, a jacuzzi and a small shelter to service these facilities. During the design process the shelter was transformed into a one bedroom open space residence with an attached guest house. On the ground floor the façades are glass surfaces  that reflect the water of the pool and convey a feeling of lightness. Wood and metal were used and obsesrved clearly from the exterior and the interior of the building.
The building elements, the piping, the ventilation are all visually accessible. The idea was to design a house that was as transparent in its construction as the water element. The living room has a full height, with large glass surfaces in direct contact with the courtyard, while the rooms on the top floor have more intimate proportions. An open jacuzzi looks into the living room and a view of the garden.
