ONE BEDROOM APARTMENT IN KESARIANI
2006 - Apartment in Athens - A 2 bedroom apartment was re-designed to a one bedroom apartment with a larger living room and an attached open space kitchen. An elegant and minimal design approach was applied here. Elements reminiscent of the 50s stylish houses. The natural stone floors and glass, metal and mirror surfaces create a contrast with the wood clad bar and the warmth of the victorian style wallpaper. The wall that separates the living room from the corridor, that leads to the bedroom and bathroom, is pierced with a double-faced mirror that allows for the light to get through but similtaneously does not allow visual contact.  The kitchen is a functional display workspace with walls covered in dark granite tiles. The fixtures are in a warm orange colour that adds a welcoming touch to the kitchen which is also next to the entrance door. The bedroom has one wall coveredd with a dark veneer that works as a backdrop to the cream leather headboard of the bed and its set of pleated plastic rectangular reading lights. The bathroom functions as a wet room trowelled with cement plaster on the walls. A yellow rotating glass panel acts as the shower barrier and as a colour source. The fixtures are boldy shaped and monolithic statement pieces.
